Since its founding in 2007, Family Dog Center of Illinois has been committed

to the safe and humane treatment of dogs, and other animals.

The Mission of the Safe-Haven Facility program is to:

assist when possible; and to recognize & promote every animal rescue shelter

which shares our same commitment to the humane treatment of dogs.

Family Dog Center urges our community to look for the Safe-Haven Facility logo when considering the adoption of an animal or when making a donation of time or resources.

Code of Ethics

• Provide a safe, healthy &  protected environment for animals

• Help animals recover from their injuries of neglect & abuse

• Protects animals from further injury & abuse

• Promote, encourage & practice the humane handling of animals

• Uses only No-Choke dog collars to prevent further injury to the dog’s neck, throat and spine

• Trains staff and volunteers in the safe & humane handling of animals in accordance with the Positive-Reinforcement Handler program established by Family Dog Center of Illinois
