On those beams, you will have the electric hoist, trolley, counterweight, and even a pendant track. Below that will be the hook block, wire rope, and also a pendant cable. How To Construct A 20 Ton Gantry Crane
In most cases, these are going to be either a portable unit or one that will be placed inside the facility. If you are going to build the smaller portable gantry crane, you will begin with the supporting beams. These will be attached to the overhead be that will hold your hoist, trolley, pulley, and other materials. You will likely need to have rollers on a portable gantry crane so that you can maneuver it once it is fully constructed. Finally, if you are building a gantry crane inside of the facility, you need to make sure the span width of the gantry beams can reach both sides.
If you will be installing runway beams, be sure that those are connected properly on either side to support the weight of what you will be lifting. All of this will be welded together, and once it is done, you will then connect the electronic component. Building a crane may not be the first choice for everyone. If you have the capability to do so, you can do this for a fraction of the cost.
